Annus Horribilis

This has been the worst of year of my life, this has been the best year of my life. It has been a year of lows, it has been a year of highs. It’s been a year of betrayals, it’s been a year of deepened friendships.
This has officially been my Annus Horribilis!
But even through all this, I’ve had friends who went beyond the call of friendship. Friends who were there for me and helped me make it through the worst of it. Friends who, through acts of human decency, quite literally, saved my life.
Just remember folks, as it says in the Talmud: “And whoever saves a single life, the Bible considers it as if he saved an entire world”
There are also people out there who utterly disappointed me. I chose to use those as, yet another, life lesson.
And even if I haven’t asked you for help in this past year, or even though I haven’t approached you directly, by being a real friend, you made my 2010 just a little more bearable. For that, I thank you.
